The Aspiration of Mahāmudrā

The Rimé Buddhist Center is honored to welcome Younge Khachab Rinpoche back to Kansas City for a special weekend of teachings and practice on the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje’s Aspiration of the Mahāmudrā of Definitive Meaning.

Widely respected for his clarity, warmth, and deep realization, Rinpoche presents the profound teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition in a way that is accessible, practical, and transformative. This rare opportunity offers students the chance to receive direct instruction, engage in practice, and deepen their connection to the Dharma.

Composed by the Third Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje (1284–1339), the Aspiration of the Mahāmudrā of Definitive Meaning is one of the great meditation texts of the Kagyu tradition. In a concise series of profound aspiration verses, Rangjung Dorje presents the complete path of Mahāmudrā: the nature of mind, the relationship between appearances and mind, the inseparability of awareness and emptiness, the practices of śamatha and vipaśyanā, and the realization of Mahāmudrā.

Over the course of this weekend, Rinpoche will guide us through this extraordinary text, helping us understand its teachings not simply as Buddhist philosophy, but as instructions for meditation and the direct recognition of the nature of mind.

The weekend will include teachings, meditation, and opportunities to deepen our understanding of Mahāmudrā under the guidance of an authentic lineage holder.

Practitioners of all backgrounds are welcome.
